Transforming this sweet post war colonial into a large functioning family home was pure joy. Restoring this beauty to its former glory while adding a modern feel was inspirational and a great project to be a part of.
It all started with a lift and build in on the lower level. Wooden floors were kept throughout the entire top level inclusive of the extension and bedrooms but in keeping with the modern feel, carpet was added to the three bedrooms downstairs. One bathroom was renewed with two new bathrooms being added and an additional powder room. Neutrals tones with quality tap ware and fixtures allowed the spaces to feel bright and fresh.
VJ walls compliment the open plan living as well as subtle but luxurious finishes inclusive of a private deck, recessed sliding door, high ceilings and an entertainers dream kitchen. The kitchen in many cultures is the heart of the home and with this house there is no exception. European appliances, double ovens, double dishwashers, concrete island bench and to finish it off a very generous size butlers pantry. We also love the pressed metal added to the face of the island bench that adds a little extra beauty to this timeless home.
Downstairs a large size walk in robe sits to one side of the master bedroom with a spacious and bright ensuite on the other side. A fixed glass window allows a feeling of luxury while taking a bath. For those lovers of wine, a wine cellar was added plus a second lounge room and a seamless feel from inside to the outside Patio and grassed area.
This renovation and new build has come together beautifully and seamlessly restored the home to its former self to last for many years to come.
